The 25/26 touring season

In the 25/26 season, you can hear the Oslo Philharmonic and Chief Conductor Klaus Mäkelä in seven concerts across five major European cities.

After the New Year concerts have concluded and 2026 has barely begun, the orchestra, Chief Conductor Klaus Mäkelä, and soloist Lisa Batiashvili embark on a European tour. Since the Elbphilharmonie opened in 2017, the Oslo Philharmonic has performed there nine times, featuring soloists such as Sol Gabetta, Leif Ove Andsnes, Vilde Frang, and Truls Mørk. The January tour begins with two concerts in the iconic concert hall in Hamburg, featuring music by Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich, and Sibelius. From there, the tour continues to Philharmonie de Paris for one concert before the orchestra, Klaus, and Lisa travel to the unofficial world capital of classical music—Vienna. At the Wiener Konzerthaus, there will be two concerts before the tour concludes in the German city of Essen.

On 23 May 2026, immediately following the season finale in Oslo, the orchestra and Klaus Mäkelä are joined by soloist Truls Mørk as they head for the Czech capital. The concert opens with Antonín Dvořák’s Cello Concerto before Klaus leads the orchestra in the season’s final work—Jean Sibelius’s Lemminkäinen Suite.
