Oslo Philharmonic's Chamber Series

Musicians from the Oslo Philharmonic perform two chamber works in symphonic format—the only completed movement from Guillaume Lekeu’s Piano Quartet in B-flat major and César Franck’s monumental Piano Quintet in F minor.

In this chamber concert featuring musicians from the Oslo Philharmonic, you will hear two piano trios written at vastly different points in their composers’ lives: Richard Strauss was only 13 years old when he composed his first trio, while Dmitri Shostakovich wrote his Piano Trio No. 2 during one of the darkest and most demanding periods of his life.

This week, Roberto González-Monjas conducts one of Mozart’s piano concertos using wind instruments as never before. In this chamber concert, he plays the violin alongside musicians from the Oslo Philharmonic.
