Asbjørn Schaathun leads the way as he takes us from the smallest of piano chords to the greatest orchestral melodies.

His favourite composers of all sorts, with both shorter works by Boulez and Stravinsky, and Marianne Beate Kielland sings Mahler's beautiful «Ich bin der Welt abhanden gekommen». In addition, Schaathun's own Piano Concerto «Nations», written for the occation, will be played. Is there still music that can express a nations cultural distinctiveness?
