Family Day

Serge Prokofiev’s immortal musical fairytale Peter and the Wolf springs to life with narrator Johannes Joner and musicians from the Oslo Philharmonic.

We welcome listeners of all ages to Oslo Concert Hall, where you’ll be met with music, creativity and excitement! Our Family Concert Peter and the Wolf will be performed three times in the course of the day, and in the lobby you’ll be invited to try out instruments, compose, conduct – and get to know our musicians better.

Serge Prokofiev (1891–1953) wrote both the text and the music to the story of the courageous boy Peter, his brusque grandfather, and the sinister wolf in the spring of 1936. Director Natalya Sats had originally commisioned the work for the children’s theatre she ran in Moscow. A great success, Sats herself appeared as the narrator, and it was soon exported abroad and translated into a number of languages.

Suitable for ages 4 and up.
