SCORE − video game music concert

A video game concert where the Oslo Philharmonic will play music by some of the genre’s most important composers.

Today, game music stands on its own feet and is established in the orchestral repertoire worldwide. In SCORE we take you on a musical journey that spans the genre’s history. A wonderful experience for both experienced and beginners, both in the world of games and the orchestral world!

The HALO music has a prominent place in the program, along with game music’s most famous composer, Nobuo Uematsu and his music for Final Fantasy. From The Last of Us, we hear All Gone (No Escape) by the double Oscar-winning composer Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel), and we play music from both the ‘80s classic MegaMan and from 2015’s hottest horror game, Bloodborne.

The program also includes music by Norwegian Knut Avenstroup Haugen, an internationally renowned game music composer. Soprano Sabina Zweiacker joins the orchestra in several evocative songs from Journey, fantasy game Skyrim and more.

The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario are trademarks of Nintendo.
